For the past week, i couldn't help but notice how much things have changed over a year. and i mean MAJOR changes. Well, this hasnt got to do with me only, it involves everything. Like last year at this point of time around Feb-March, i was jobless, had no idea what was i was going to become in life, had no fashion sense, different taste of music (well, now i appreciate older artistes:p). well now its pretty different. For example, Singapore is hosting the Youth Olympics 2010. thats one mega event heh? now, that's what i mean. Things are not like what were they before. Do you think 10-15 years ago, Singapore was this progressive and different? It's not like im complaining. Things are changing for the good....and im really glad:)
I'm really glad i saw this movie. I don't know whether it is released in the theatres in Singapore. But i rented out the DVD instead. After seeing this movie, im never going to eat fast food ever again. And i mean it. One of the horrifying facts i learnt from the movie was that due to the increase of speed in the production line, the workers are not able to clean the meat properly. The bottom line? Crap in the patty! '...the relentless pressure resulting from the speed of the disassembly line. The faster this moves, the greater the profitability of the slaughterhouse (the three meatpacking giants - IBP, ConAgra and Excel - try to maximise their profits by maximizing the volume of production at each plant), but also the greater the likelihood of injuries to the workers.' Sadly, the biggest consumers of fast companies are children and young adults. '...This competition for young customers has led the fast food chains to form marketing alliances with toy companies, sports leagues and Hollywood studios. McDonald's has staged promotions with the NBA and the Olympics. Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC signed a three year deal with the NCAA. Burger King and Nickelodeon and McDonald's and the Fox Kids Network have formed partnerships that mix advertisements for fast food with children's entertainment. Burger King has sold chicken nuggets shaped like Teletubbies.' The result? The rise of obesity in kids. There are so much more horrifying facts to learn about. I highly recommend you to catch this movie or even better, read the novel.

Gossip Girl: Sometimes you need to step outside, clear your head and remind yourself of who you are. And where you wanna be. And sometimes you have to venture outside your world in order to find yourself. As for me, I'm happy right where I am. xoxo, Gossip Girl.
